GOOD LUCK WALL HANGING

Finished size approximately 16" x 55"

This wall hanging consists of three blocks made in the Japanese unique style, showing how simple equipment and techniques can produce patchwork works of art.

The pattern on the top and bottom block is called “Iyo kasuri komoxhi masumon,” (Iyo “parent and child” squares).

The center block pattern is a Good Luck character, called “Kurume kasuri fukumoji.”

Prior to the class you must have your fabric chosen and precut into precise strips from the intricate instructions given prior to the class. You will also be given a supply list. Please read and comply to what you need to bring to class. Fabric suggestions are Japanese and other Asian-style fabrics, as well as solids, shot cotton, linen, and geometric patterns. All will give your blocks an authentic, exotic style. We will be making two blocks in class, one of each design.

Finishing techniques will be discussed so you can finish at home. These geometric style blocks are easy and fun to make and will be a conversation piece when added to any wall.

Skill Level: Must have recent machine sewing experience as a Confident Beginner or Intermediate quilter to participate.
